Ephemeral Threads
Ephemeral Threads is my new collection born from my fascination with beauty, impermanence, and the quiet contradictions of contemporary fashion. Using watercolour, collage, and plastic washi tapes, I dress my models in garments that shimmer with colour and promise, yet carry the fragility of something not meant to last. The washi tapes—glossy, kitschy, and synthetic—become a stand-in for fast fashion itself: seductive, disposable, and detached from longevity. A mayfly appears in each piece, a small but persistent witness to this world of fleeting desires. Living only briefly, yet fully, it offers a gentle counterpoint to a culture that consumes endlessly while valuing less.
Through Ephemeral Threads, I reflect on what we choose to wear, admire, and discard—and what these choices quietly reveal about our relationship with beauty, time, and meaning.
